Pool Water Stabilizer Too High

If your cya levels dip too low your chlorine will be completely gone in a few hours and your swimming pool will become susceptible to bacteria and algae growth. Cyanauric acid a stabilizer can be added but in order to lower it the pool needs to be diluted with fresh water. There is no chemical on the market that you can add to your pool water to lower the stabilizer. The only way to lower stabilizer levels in your pool is to remove some of the water and add clean water. More reasons why your pool is cloudy. Poor filtration means you might not be running your filter long enough you have clogged or worn out filter cartridges or there is scaling on.
Dilution is the solution. You cannot add chemicals to lower the stabilizer level. When a pool is exposed to sunlight chlorine breaks down and no longer sanitizes causing the sanitizer to be low. For diluting you don t have to use an exact science but basically if your cyanuric acid level is 5 too high then you need to remove about 5 of the pool water.
